I’ve been blogging for a while now, but I’m still learning…. Gawd am I still learning! (insert eye roll here! LOL) One major thing I’ve learned along the way is that the blog tools you use are super duper important! They are going to help you be as successful as possible. So…. let me tell you my absolute favs that have helped me tons on my blog!
The most important of your blog tools is a good web host. I’ve heard lots of things about lots of different web hosting companies, but for me personally, I’ve had great success with Blue Host. Originally, my blog had a different name and when I revamped my site and switched to a self-hosted site, I also changed the domain name. Originally I had signed up with Blue Host under the original domain name, but when I switched, they moved my whole site to the new domain name and got it all up and going in less than 30 minutes…. for nothing. I was shocked. There were a few snags on my end that were my fault, but when I called in they were soooo great! It was all back to normal in no time. So personally I’d recommend them to anyone. If you are interested, sign up through my link and you’ll get a super fantastic rate!
Okay… unless you’re a professional photographer, or at least pretty darn good, you’re gonna need some gorgeous stock photos for your site or for blog graphics. I dug around and found stock photos that were super girly, feminine and fun! Here’s what I found:

My absolute favorite site… ever! Allison has SO much to help you build your blog and business, it will blow your mind! Go to her free courses page and sign up to gain access to so much free stuff, including stock photos…. you’ll be amazed!
Something I discovered fairly quickly into my blogging journey was Canva. I swear, with Canva, anybody can create a snappy eye-catching graphic that will rival the professionals! They do allow a free membership, but their paid membership gives more tools and options. It’s well worth it, in my opinion. Seriously… check it out!
One thing you’ll definitely need is a good e-marketing program. This is one of the most important blog tools you’ll need to get used to using. I’ve used several different e-mail marketing programs, but right now I’m using Mailerlite. They’re pretty good. They offer lots of tools, like automated emailing and landing pages under their free membership that some of the other e-mail marketers only offer for a fee. So if your start up funds are limited, this is a good program to use. I’ve heard good things about other programs, but for now I’m sticking with this one.
Something super important in blogging is promotion via social media. Well, if you’re like me and work full-time, you don’t have the time or opportunity to hop on to all your social media accounts and post multiple times during the day… well, not if you want to keep your job, right??? So I use Hootsuite, which is a social media scheduler. You can set up as many posts for each media account as many times as you like. It’s super easy to use. It’s free for up to 3 social media accounts. After that, the cost is minimal, but well worth the time saving you gain!!
Another one of the uber important blog tools would be to monetize your site at some point or another, so I would recommend signing up with some affiliates. This type of advertising is relatively fool proof, but you need to take the time to put the links in there and promote them a little bit. I have some banner ads, but also put product links in my posts as well, whenever they’re appropriate to what I’m posting. I’m signed up with Amazon Affiliates, which is easy to sign up for and they accept pretty much everyone, regardless of the traffic to your site. You need to get a sale within 6 months I think to keep your account. Amazon sells itself, so getting a sale isn’t that difficult. I got my first sale about 30 days after signing up. My biggest success has been with product links, but I’m also a fan of banner ads, like this one:
Another affiliate ad program you want to sign up for is Google Adsense. Again, they accept pretty much anyone. It’s a pay per click program, so you won’t get rich off of it, but it’s something to start with.
There are tons more like Linkshare (Rakuten) and Flexoffers. Each of those represents hundreds of advertisers. You can search through the list and sign up with the ones you like. I signed up with the ones that are appropriate to my blog niche. As I say, you might not get rich off it, but it’s a start!
The blog tools that you use on your website and in your business are incredibly important, so you want to use tools that you feel comfortable with. Let’s face it…. we’re all hoping to make a solid living from our blogs, so we need really great blog tools to do that.
Read a LOT…. do your research and find out everything you can. Blogging isn’t rocket science (unless you’re blogging about rocket science! LOL), but it does take some time. Find the best blog tools for YOU and for what YOU are doing. Guaranteed you’ll be a success!
So now… spill the beans… what are YOUR favorite blog tools??? Give them up! I may want to give them a try myself!
Have a fabulously pink day!!
