Let’s see if I can trigger a few memories with this blog post……
Having a few flashbacks??? Let me give you a few more…..
When I took business classes in high school, I learned to type on a manual typewriter…. Typing 1 at Poland Seminary High School… 11th grade I think. Errors were corrected by erasing the error as neatly as possible, and typing over the erasure. NOT an easy task. Does this ring a bell?
The following year was Typing 2 and we were using IBM Selectric typewriters and used correction tape to fix errors. Who remembers those little things?
It wasn’t until I got to college before I got a correcting typewriter…. it had a built in correction tape. THAT was a big deal!!
After I arrived at my job in 1985, I used the IBM self-correcting typewriter above, and then…. I got an electronic typewriter… it was self-correcting and even had a mini screen… and I DO mean MINI!!
But it was light years ahead of the manual typewriter I learned on!!
Let’s see what else you might remember…….
And how about these???
The life of a “secretary” has certainly changed… hasn’t it????
More to come soon…. this is just the beginning!!!
